Summer is golden time at Punkaharju
There are lots of things to do in Punkaharju! Horseback riding and beach volley tournaments can be arranged quickly. Take the rowing boat or canoe/ kayak and explore lake nature in silence. With our motorboats you can travel to the sandy or rocky islands nearby for a picnic, while taking a break from fishing.
There are lots of things to do for rainy days as well; castle Olavinlinna and its interesting history, biggest wooden church in the world in Kerimäki, Kruununpuisto swimming pool, Valamo and Lintula monasteries, Museum of mechanical music in Varkaus, Koli national park and its information centre, excellent art centre Johanna Oras in summertime. Lusto, in Punkaharju, is a national museum and science centre of international importance focusing on Finnish forest culture and illustrating the interaction between man and the forest from the past to the future.
Naaranlahti has modern and traditional activities for the winter. According to snow and ice conditions we prepare skiing track or skating place. Rent a snowmobile, take a horseback ride in a sleigh, or even a snowmobile safari to get to know the wonders of winter fishing. Puruvesi and surroundings offers great possibilities for winter activities.
